Ing. Jiri Suchanek
born 1982 in Jicin (CZ)
Jiri Suchanek is a cultural professional with large experience at international projects related to marketing, tourism, arts and culture. He acted as a CEO of Pilsen – European Capital of Culture 2015 project [total value 20 mio EUR]. Between 2011 and 2013 performed as a director of the Czech second biggest company foundation „OKD Foundation“ responsible for development of areas influenced by hard coal mining. Between 2008 and 2010 worked for Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a head of production of Czech pavilion at World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. In 2017 led cultural programme for the Czech Pavillion at EXPO2017 in Astana Kazakhstan. He is also founder of several festivals focusing on sports, culture or craftsmanship. Nowadays in charge of the Creative Zone DEPO2015 in Pilsen - producer of the festival of light BLIK BLIK, Czech-Bavarian cooperation and several other legacy projects. Jiri is also a member of the Selection and Monitoring Panel for European Capital of Culture [2017-2022]. Jiri is a passionate tennis player, food lover and cook, music fan and happy father of 2 kids.
