THE  FIFTH   ELEMENT

Water, fire, earth and air have been considered the basic building blocks of our world in Western culture since ancient times. Plato added a heavenly element to this quartet - ether. Our ether is the fusion of technology and art. This allows us to glimpse the beauty and terrifying power of these elements from a cosmic perspective in an impressive 360-degree projection. With a closer look, on the other hand, we visualize organisms that represent individual elements and demonstrate the fragility and interconnectedness of all elements of our being and actions.

 

Technical description
The installation consists of 2 space bodies (inflatables). The globe with a diameter of 7 meters is more static and only slightly reacts by playing with lights or flashing. The projection ball with a diameter of 6 meters is served by 4 projectors, which create a 360-degree, so-called spherical projection. The installation is complemented by a distinctive author's sound full of effects and heavenly ether, and is highlighted by the lighting of the surrounding fauna. The required space for the projection planet, including distances for the projectors, is approx. 13x13m. In addition to the space for the planet, the ideal scene is a place with trees and a grass area of ​​at least 25x13m. The projection is about 2 minutes long and runs in an endless loop with a short pause for breathing.
